Dry cleaning facts & labels

A wedding dress is one of the most difficult items to clean requiring high levels of skill. Gowns need to be pre-treated to remove stains. The hems and underskirts are treated, by hand, for mud, grass and general ground in dirt; this process generally takes between one and two hours but on particularly large or very dirty dresses it can take much longer.

After pre-treating, gowns are cleaned with solvent which is used to flush out the dirt suspended in the spotting agents but what is dry cleaning and which solvent is best for your gown?
